Hubby and hijab

Well its been long enough that i have listened to my hubby about why i should not wear hijab, but its never anything concrete except youll find it hard to get a job, why now its a bit late etc. I have noticed than when i do wear hijab he cant look me straight in the face and it does upset me that i feel im compromising my beliefs and wants for his approval. I love my hubby dearly but feel i am not moving on in my islamic way of life as we have different mind sets. Inshallah i pray for him to say to me please wear the hijab, but i know this will never happen. I feel stuck in a rut and nowhere to turn, even my sons are asking him why and hubby wont even talk about it he just walks off or ignores us. Inshallah gonna take the hijab in ramadan and as its the holiest month, inshallah he will actually get used to seeing me everyday in it and want it as much as me and my sons.

Ok moan over :-) inshallah will write good news soon

Wow do i really hate uni

I thought uni was supposed to be a good time of studying and making friends. Well so far i hate the course and the class members are absolutely horrible, they really make you feel uncomfortable and look down on you.  the course content is nothing like i was told its all chemistry and lab work, if i wanted to be in a lab i would have studied a course that was lab orientated.  there is no way im going back for year 2 id go insane doing it for any longer than the next 6 weeks. Woohoo roll on half term, 3 weeks break and than two weeks after that i finish. Gonna have to find a job instead now monday to friday is good for me.

Well thats my rant over by for now

Ramadan so far

Salam to all my friends and inshallah your ramadan is going well.

Monday started off so well for me, I had my suhorr (food before beginning fast) then i went to bed around 4am after clearing away the kitchen and making sure that everyone was fed well.

I then arose in the morning around 8am, and after my sons had their showers, i was able to have my shower and then afterwards i then sat down in my bedroom and was able to read the whole chapter of Al Baqara of the quaran.  I did not realise the time as after I had finished it was 3.45pm and so I then proceeded to go shopping for the bits and pieces that we needed and then went back to my room to rest and listen to the womens hour on MCR the radio station i allways listen to this time of the year, they have some good programmes on there especially the drivetime, although the presenters this year have changed the new brothers are still doing a good job of entertaining.

I must say though that since day one i have been suffering with very bad migraines again this year, i have managed to fast alhumdulillah, so reading has gone out of the window but now im inshallah getting back on my feet i can inshallah catch up with what i have missed out on.

well so im now going to post some photos inshallah over the next day or so, inshallah of the iftar table and maybe inshallah of us outside tonight if we still go to London as hopefully planned inshallah.

well inshallah will write soon and will also have good news about uni, as i have to do the online enrollment sometime this month and the face to face on sept 5th.

Ramadan is nearly here alhumudulillah

Well its now the 15th of July and inshallah in around 17 - 18 days it will be the beginning of the month of fasting called Ramadan. From now until the start of the holy month it is time to reflect on the past year and what we want to get out of the holy month coming up.

To prepare I have begun to sort through my iphone and its music content and remove quite a bit of the stuff on there and fill it with my islamic readings and favourite nasheeds. I inshallah hope to put my quran reading in the forefront this year too, last year I was really ill and unable to even eat for most of the month and so my ramadan was not very eventful and being able to read was not even part of my daily routine as I spent most of the time in bed in pain.

As its the summer holidays again inshallah i can spend my time in the bedroom reading to my hearts content, as cooking will be a lot later in the day inshallah.

The foods that me and my family will be eating will be msemmen and bgriia these are moroccan pancakes, there will be samosas, bread, soup (harira, tomato) and i have made some chebbakkiya and frozen this too at the moment. I will be making some moroccan cigars and some biscuits and cakes too.

This part of the lead up to the holy month I do enjoy and inshallah it shall be a rewarding month.

I will be back inshallah weekly to post what other things I have to done to make ramadan a little easier in the beginning, and inshallah the whole of ramdan right up until Eid ul Fitr.

University finally

well i have finally been given a place at uni in london after clearing, i cant believe how much my college mucked up my acceptance. they had reported to my prospective uni that i will not receive full credits the maximum i will get is 36 when infact i was awarded 60 credits and 45 at level 3 and 15 level 2s. this would have been more than enough to get me on the course even though it was not a full diploma without the algebra maths. the uni told me that if the college had acknowledged my 60 credits even though its a certificate was more than enough and i would be on my physiotherapy ccourse rather than having to do an extended degree.

well im going to south bank uni and hopefully it will turn out well. these past few weeks have been really hard i have had severe migraines been in bed most of the time and now im just getting over having the flu, still feel light headed and stuffy. just now waiting for my uni to send me my letter of acceptance and start date which will be around he 20th september.

well gonna go now bye

Ramadan is here

well ramadan arrived and i have been ill since, i have been in bed since last thursday afternoon with severe migraine, finally got out today to go to portabello and get some chabbikkiya, msemen, bgriiaa and moroccan bread and then came back and crashed until 6pm when i had to get up and do some chicken.

hubby has now gone to the mosque and we will have the chicken done with some spices and yougurt sauce with some chips when he comes back from tarawiyah prayers.

as form me im still taking it easy and inshallah my head will begin to clear soon. i have not even been able to read as when look at the pages i begin to feel sick. same with the computer im here just to check emails, but thought id drop a quick note here.

was also happy as today i got an email saying that my new jilaba outfit (above) from egypt will be here soon as it has now been shipped.

well thats all for me as its time to set the dinner stuff and get things ready.

Ramadan is nearly here

Today I have begun looking at my recipes to begin making my breads and cakes that I usually make during ramadan the holy month that is nearly upon us. As muslims we look forward to this month with heart felt love of our religion. it is a great month to reflect on our lives and to take more time in reading and understanding the Quran and Sunnah. Remembering those that are also less fortunate than us and to be able to interpret this into a great charity and alhumdulillah to carry this on after ramadan has finished.

This year alhumdulillah it will all be in the school holidays so we are able to do a lot more as no early nights are needed so my boys can get up the next morning. I have ordered a good reading book called my ramadan diary and inshallah it help me to get a good timetable together so that we can use our time efficiently and in the evenings go out and see other muslims in other areas inshallah.

My first set of breads are called challah and they are big plait breads and my hubby and boys love them and i am also going to be doing small round breads caled anise bread and these are good for breakfast with harira in the early morning sehri.

we usually eat the challah for breaking of the fast with some home made soup and usually the main meal as they breaking of the fast this year will later, so we will have both close to gether.

i will post my finished food delights when they are complete, as for now i am looking through my books and i will also begin to enjoy doing some baking for my cakes and bikkies too.

well that is me for now and inshallah ill be back soon

Monday, 5 July 2010

Well i have finally got my results from college and i am really annoyed. i have been able to acquire more credits than needed, but will not however be given my diploma as i have not been able to pass the the level 3 maths, so i am now inshallah hoping that my chosen university will accept my credit award without the diploma.

i am so gutted as the other access courses allow you to fail at least one module, but i am not so it is very unfair to me and some others on the course.

so will report back here when i get my answer from the uni.

Today i was lucky however, as i was able to re-knew my sisters magazine subscription something i have been trying to do for ages, but never actually got around to doing.

well i am going to go now and relax as no more college is a fantastic feeling, i now have time to read my books that i have been really hoping to read before uni in september if i get taken on.

Absolutely Gutted about footie

Ok yesterday i may have slightly over reacted ove the footie lol, after all i did throw my slippers at the tv and rip down all the flags of my car, left some outside the house as we are still following the world cup. no only that i ripped of my footie top and threw it in a corner of the room where it still remains lol.

but i after seeing argentina win i was cheered up again and especially seeing my jonas guttierez, my fav player in newcastle.

well today is another day and im at home nursing my younger son who has a throat infection, and my eldest son is at school doing his last science GCSE Exam and thats it until 6th form in september and then i go off inshallah to university to do physiotherapy where my son will follow as he wants to do sports physio or just physiotherpay inshallah we both do well.

well got to go shopping later to get some meat for dinner and then get ready for some more footie too.

going to staines

well today i went to staines and i wsas able to dress comfortably in a nice dress from la-redoute and a long line cardigan with my jeggins and white canvas shoes. what was weird is that i felt like i was underdressed and that too much was showing, even though i was completly covered up hwo weird is that.

well i enjoyed staines very much today and wa able to buy a longline top that is very floaty and will very cool in the summer with a top underneath.

but today i was made very happy as england finally won their match and went through to the final 16, the downside is that we now have to play germany if the scores dont change.

so here hoping that ghana score lol. tomorrow i will spend cleaning the house until i have to go to my gym induction at 2pm, i have really missed the gym since being at college last year, but i am determined to go to the gym even though i may inshallah be going to uni in septembrer. i will know for sure next tuesday as i will receive my results and my uni will say if they will take me on even if i have failed one test in algebra, inshallah they say yes.

well that it im off now to go finish watching the footie.

Tuesday, 22 June 2010

Well today i really struggled with what to wear and did not even think and just ended up wearing my newcastle footie shirt and jeggings and no jilaba.

i went to slough on my own and then i went back again with my son to pick up his phone, i also put in my N97 as it keeps freezing and cutting off during calls.

tomorrow im going to staines and i hope to be wearing my brown dress and a caridigan with my new roman sandals also in brown. as you can see its very long practically down to the floor, and my new shoes will look so nice i cant wait and inshallah a good start to my new way of dressing.
i will have days where i just want ot wear what i want, and these will be sorted out as they arise if i just go straight to wearing a jilabab i know i will then stop as it will be too much of a shock to my system. but i will end up inshallah by the time ramadan come begin wearing hijab.
this year i cant wait for ramadan i will be at home this year, and so i can relax and take things slowly and inshallah my friend will help with my changes.

westfield shopping centre

Today i started out at 9.30am with a friend to go to westfield shopping cente in london, the traffic was a nightmare, it took us over an hour to get there when it usually only takes around 20-25 mins.

once there though parking was easy and we had a good time walking around the shops. my friend needed a new dress to go to a wedding at the weekend. and settled for a blue organza dress and jacket.

as for me i brought myself a new pink purse from next and a nice pair of sandals from a shoe shop cant remember the name i just know that its near debenhams on the top floor.
we left around 1.20pm and arrived home around 1.45pm so yes it really does only take around the time i said. the only problem being is that my friend was going to be late for work as we took longer than we expected.
inshallah on wednesday we will go to staines and do some more shopping and i want to go to choice as they have some good bargains there.
so will write back when i have been on wednesday and will let you know if i brought anything useful.

as for what i wore, it was the long blue dress and a cardigan to cover my arms. i also wore a pair white strappy sandals with gold chains on the straps.

confusion

well had to go shopping today and i was really confused as what to wear. i wanted to wear my jilaba, but i decided to wear a thigh length dress, jeggings and a long caridigan down to my knees and my ever comfy white canvas plimsoles. this looks very modest but i was still unsure about my jilaba. this particular jilaba is light jean material and was made by hand for me in morocco i really like it, when its hot its very cool.

hijab was not worn but inshallah soon that will follow, im still not sure what to do about this part of my dress.

well slovakia v paraguay has nearly finished so im going to get ready for the next game before i put on the tagine for dinner.

bye for now
